Drummer Myele Manzanza has just released a new album, OnePointOne, a live follow up to his debut, One.
The live album, which features Mark de Clive-Lowe on keys and Ben Shepherd on bass, came about after the crew recorded a concert at Los Angeles’ legendary jazz club, Blue Whale.
As well as live takes on some of the material from his debut album, incorporating traditional jazz with escapades into hip hop, OnePointOne also features covers of Theo Parrish, Jill Scott and Bobby Hutcherson.
Check out this live version of the track, City of Atlantis, which appears on the album.
Myele Manzanza’s OnePointOne is out now on First Word Records and is available to buy via Bandcamp
