Spirit in Style: Diplomatico Reserva Rum

Holiday season is upon us and it starts with Thanksgiving in the US next week. Go all out and do a spirit in style to celebrate with Diplomatico Reserva Rum, which has numerous accolades to its name, one being for its efforts in protecting the environment.

Diplomatico Reserva Rum is a dark, golden Venezuelan rum. It is distilled from molasses in a copper pot still before 12 years of ageing. Rich, sweet and fruity, Diplomatico Reserva Rum is definitely one for special occasions. But those special occasions may come about more often after a sip of this Venezuelan tipple.

Diplomatico Reserva Rum is produced in Venezuela by Destilerias Unidas. Located at the foot of the Andes in the Terepaima National Park, the distillery has been producing top quality spirits for over 50 years and does all it can to ensure the facility has as little impact on the environment as possible.

One of the only liquor companies in the world to have the ISO 14001 certification for sustainability, Diplomatico Rum producers Destilerias Unidas salvage 100% of its solid waste for recycling, and all packaging, from the bottles through to the labels, is recycled.

Lingering water from rum production at the Andean foothills-based distillery is also recycled into a compost for sugar cane. The distillery also gives back to the community by taking part in local outreach programs including planting fruit trees in the local forest and beach cleaning programs.

Diplomatico Reserva Rum is available from all good retailers
