WILD Tulum is a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant to reach the Tulum jungle lending its support to everything local – from fresh sustainably sourced produce from the Yucatan and Caribbean, artisans to charities.
Set to open its doors on 17 December, WILD Tulum was conceived as a “unique experience that pays tribute to Mexico’s diverse habitats of tropical rain forests, lagoons and mangroves”.
Owner Karen Young said: “WILD goes beyond the obvious. We wanted to create something unique, using a mix of traditional Mayan craftsmanship alongside modern architecture and design influences.
“We are incredibly passionate about fresh, artisanal food and we want to showcase the incredible ingredients available to use on the Yucatan peninsula.”
The jungle-located restaurant, opposite Tulum’s pristine beaches, supports the local community by buying ingredients and produce from local farmers, producers and fishermen, products from local artisans, as well as supporting charities.
WILD Tulum’s menu also features a diverse range of cocktails fusing such eclectic ingredients as chilli infusions, mate, rosemary, lemongrass, chipotle, almond and hibiscus.
