Pixar’s new movie Coco – following the story of young boy, Miguel, captivated by the musicianship of dead guitar player Ernesto de la Cruz – brings with it a strong message to follow your heart and achieve your dreams.
Pixar have just released the first trailer for their new animated film, which will be released in cinemas in November in the US and December in the UK.
Coco, described by director Lee Unkrich (Up, Toy Story 3) as “a love-letter to Mexico”, follows Miguel as he breaks into Ernesto’s mausoleum and touches his enchanted guitar. The young boy finds himself whisked off into the Land of the Dead and a journey into his family history.
The film draws on the imagery of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the annual Mexican holiday celebrated at the end of October.
Gael Garcia Bernal and Benjamin Bratt are among the cast providing voices.
