Trungles Tarot: Comic Book-style illustrations featuring Fae & Goddesses

Tarot artwork comes in all guises and for comic book artist, Trungles, it comes in the form of stunning illustrations inspired by fae, Goddesses, the elements, anime and urban illustration even.

Trungles’ Tarot Deck, which is a work in progress, is a bright, bold and modern depiction of the tarot, from this Minnesota-based artist whose specialty is comic illustration.

There is a strong fae energy in Trungles deck, as he described his style as “my subject matter tends to be centered on fairy stories coupled with iconographic traditions of Golden Age illustrators such as Arthur Rackham, Aubrey Beardsley, and Edmund Dulac”.

The artwork is fascinating and alluring, appealing to people of all ages. Trungles’ tarot deck also explores gender and sexuality.

For instance, The Lovers card has four variations – two of a heterosexual couple, and two of same sex couples.

Trungles draws and makes comics primarily with fine ink lines.
