Dave Hakkens: “Tackling problems” like waste with simple and effective ideas

Dutch designer Dave Hakkens is “always trying to tackle problems” through the sharing of ideas with the world.

Through his projects, Dave Hakkens has brought knowledge of how anyone in the world can create their own machine to recycle plastic and turn the material into useful products; created a modular phone in order to change the way electronics are made so there’s less waste; and shares video stories about his journey into creating solutions to problems like landfill, beach clean ups, and the “monkey mind” even.

While it takes only one person to create change, the Netherlands-based Dave Hakkens is aware of the impact a collective can have. His vision to tackle problems includes community. Therefore Dave Hakkens has created an online community where people can share ideas and stories on how to tackle global problems.

All of the information and knowledge that Dave Hakkens provides for people the world over to tackle global problems is independent, open source and freely available for anyone on the planet.

As part of his global efforts to create change, Dave Hakkens has set up a “Sustainable Projects” platform via Patreon where like-minded folk can support his work and help support him financially.

Dave Hakkens said: “Currently my focus is on recycling plastic. I’m not sure what kind of projects I will do in the future but I can guarantee they will always try to tackle a problem.”

You can support Dave Hakkens Sustainable Projects on Patreon.
