Water consumption may be considerably more during the summer. There’s many herbs and fruits that can be added to water for a refreshing drink that helps you stay hydrated and keeps you cool.
Ditch those shop bought plastic bottled “vitamin-infused” waters, often laden with sugar, for a homemade drink instead.
Gather some of your favourite fruits and herbs and make a blend of your own. Experiment with flavours and tastes – you could mix strawberry and basil; orange segments and fresh ginger; or cucumber and celery.
What’s great about herb and fruit infused water is that it encourages you to get creative with food waste. For instance, you can use the peel from citrus fruits including orange, lime, lemon or grapefruit, and place in a jug as a standalone water or mix with a herb of your choice. The possibilities are endless.
