Seviyan Kheer (Verimicelli & Milk Dessert with Saffron) is a popular dish in the cuisine of the Indian Subcontinent.
The dessert is a great source of calcium given that it uses whole milk. The addition of saffron and nuts makes for a tasty dessert for anyone who is not keen on the taste of milk, but requires dairy milk in their diet due to the high volume of calcium that it provides.
The recipe in the video below uses cashews, almonds and sultanas, but can be adapted depending on which nuts you like. For example, pistachios alone makes for a lovely Seviyan Kheer. Experiment and enjoy.
