Spanish street artist Julieta XLF is a dab hand at creating whimsical female figures entwined in nature.
Julieta XLF’s colourful and vibrant artworks pay homage to the divine feminine. Her signature murals have featured on walls throughout her native Valencia, Madrid, Italy and France.
Julia Silla, aka Julieta XLF, says: “In my work, women are the heroines of their adventures and nature is my muse. Everything I find, I discover, it’s already in Nature.”
For one of her recent murals, Esperanza, Julieta XLF has dedicated the mural to “three special, strong women”. Esperanza features a sleeping female figurine, laid amongst bright flowers and leaves, with wild tiger cubs surrounding her. She holds one in her arms while by her face, perch two doves with a small heart floating over them.
In addition to nature, the Valencia-based draws inspiration and energy from “Colours, travelling and meeting people and other cultures” and cites Hayao Miyazaki and Frida Kahlo among those artists she admires.
