Mexico City-based duo transforming gasoline-fuelled cars into electric cars

Transforming gasoline-fuelled cars into electric cars has been a decade-long mission of a Mexico City-based duo.

More than 3.5 million cars navigate the streets, plazas and avenues in Mexico City, North America’s most populous urban area.

In an effort to tackle the environmental problems of pollution, waste and fossil fuels in Mexico City, engineer/auto mechanic Alvaro de la Paz and computer scientist Hector Ruiz have teamed up to convert vehicles into zero-emissions automobiles.

Over the past decade, the pair have converted more than two dozen vehicles into electric cars. More

The pair are hoping that their project will inspire younger generations to work for a brighter, cleaner future.
