More and more people are looking for sustainable solutions in their kitchens to root out plastics and single-use food wraps. But there is one other culprit that hangs out in the kitchen yet is responsible for huge amounts of landfill waste and that’s the kitchen towel.
Thankfully then Bambooee has thought of everyone’s kitchen needs and created a reusable kitchen towel made from pure rayon bamboo.
Available in single sheets or a roll of 20, each Bambooee sheet is machine washable and can be reused up to 100 times.
Households worldwide get through 6.5 million tonnes of kitchen paper annually. Whilst some will be composted or recycled, the majority will end up on landfill. Moreover, the production of kitchen roll itself involves the chopping down of many trees and the use of a lot of water – one tonne of kitchen paper uses 17 trees and 20,000 gallons of water.
Bambooee is currently not biodegradable, but the company are working on a compostable version due out soon. They claim that one roll of Bambooee replaces up to 286 rolls of kitchen towel.
For every roll sold, Bambooee plants a tree through Trees for the Future.
