Environmental economist and climate change comedian Matt Winning is trying to get people to take climate change more seriously by taking it less seriously.
The comedian, who has a PhD in climate change policy and now works at UCL doing research on climate change, has written a stand-up comedy show about climate change, Filibuster, in an effort to engage people in the issues without being preachy.
Built as a lecture on climate change and describing how global warming is destroying both the planet and his life, Filibuster sees Matt Winning combine his two worlds of comedy and environmental economics in an attempt to save the planet.
The Scottish comedian will be performing Filibuster in London and Glasgow this month. The show, which won rave reviews at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, has been described by ShortCom as “a very powerful and eccentric piece of comedy“.
