A London double decker bus is to be turned into a farm where visitors will be able to buy strawberries and herbs harvested onboard.
The Farmbus – which is stationed at the sustainable, community market, Mercato Metropolitano in London’s Elephant & Castle – will use solar power and aeroponics, growing food in a misty environment that doesn’t need soil.
As well as being able to grow food all year round in an urban environment, 95% of the water used will be recirculated in the system.
Mercato Metropolitano has been working with Rootlabs to create the pick your own farm and plant shop.
