Walking is the best way to get to know a city, and during the weekend of 12 and 13 May, Walk London will be offering ramblers over 40 free guided walking tours of the city.
The walks – which include family-friendly, by water, historical and green space walks – offer people the opportunity to soak up the city in all its glory.
Animal I-Spy in the City, specifically created for children, offers a gentle stroll of the city to discover dragons, lions, unicorns and more in their facades.
There’s also a walking tour along the Regent’s Canal from Angel to Hackney Wick; an Urban Tree Trail; and a winding tour along the Thames Path to discover their artistic and literary associations, taking in historic houses and pubs.
Walks range from a leisurely 1.5 mile stroll to a more hardy 17.5 mile superwalk, but all are designed to be away from traffic and connect walkers with London’s beautiful parks, woodland, rivers, canals and open spaces.
If you would like to take part in guided walk, visit the Walk London website to book a place. All walking tours are free.
