The Floating Meadow and Chill Garden – a floating oasis of wildflowers and grasses housed on a barge in London’s Maida Vale – will be open to visitors until 27 May.
The Floating Meadow is decked with a lively and vivacious display of seasonal plants. Built with an elegant frameless structure, the installation offers a perfect opportunity to observe the Chelsea Fringe festival of flowers, gardens and gardening along the Grand Union Canal.
The Floating Meadow and Chill Garden originally opened in spring on World Planting Day on 21 March, offering a series of green-fingered pop ups, workshops and talks.
Launched in conjunction with local garden specialists Clifton Nurseries, the boat was seeded with specially selected blooms to bring a spring meadow-vibe to Paddington Central. It was created with the aim to get local workers and residents will inspired to sow, nurture and flourish their way through spring.
The Floating Meadow and Chill Garden will be open daily, between 8am and 5pm, until the Chelsea Fringe festival closes on Sunday 27 May.
