The Recycled Candle Company has come up with an ingenious way to save tonnes of candle wax ending up in landfill each year.
The Recycled Candle Company is calling on people to turn up to their London pop-up shop in Marylebone, between 17 and 23 June, with their candle leftovers, so they can be recycled into new candles.
Candle wax is not classed as a recyclable material. By reclaiming candle leftovers, The Recycled Candle Company ultimately prevents it being sent to landfill sites across the UK.
From the 17 –23 June 2018 scrap wax can be left directly at the pop-up shop to stop this pollution. All types of candle wax including paraffin, soy and beeswax will be accepted.
The Recycled Candle Company work closely with local businesses in London such as hotels and restaurants who are keen to reduce their waste.
After the wax is collected, it is melted down, cleaned, dyed, and scented – ready to be made into new candles.
