Sun, Sand, Beach & the Bees: Bee Workshop for kids at Dock Beach

Combine a fun trip to the beach with your kids and get them learning more about bees. London honey producers, Bermondsey Street Bees will be hitting the beach at Royal Docks this Saturday for a special children’s workshop.

The interactive workshop features four activities including dressing up in bee-suits and gloves; tasting local Custom House Honey; a touch-pool including bee-wax comb, pollen, propolis and other bee items; and planting for honeybees, which includes learning more about bees’ vegetarian diet consisting of nectar, protein, carbs, and pollen.

The Bee Workshop takes place this Saturday (11 August) at the London Urban Beach at the Royal Docks in Newham.

The manmade golden sandy beach at the Royal Docks opens throughout the summer holidays until 2 September. New attractions at the Dock Beach this year include a 22metre-long alfresco pool on the dock edge, a paddling pool, a sun deck, film screenings and music evenings, as well as workshops.
