Paddington Central launch floating market selling local produce on barges

Paddington Central plays host to a floating market, where barges along the Grand Union Canal will open their doors to local vendors selling street food, local produce, seasonal organic produce, as well as live music.

The floating market, which runs from 29 August to 2 September, will feature local businesses including Freddie’s Flowers and Clifton Nurseries selling flowers. Lamar Scarves, Local Honey Man and Sunwar Foods will takeover Paddington Central’s very own Pioneer Barge and will be selling hand-printed scarves, local honey and chilli oils respectively. The Onion Barge will be offering organic fruit and veg as well as other sustainable products.

Pop-up stalls along the towpath include Bread Winners, a bakery that empowers refugees by providing employment opportunities; Priestlands Birch, who will be selling handmade birch-tree products from Exmoor; creators of plant-powered home fragrances, Paget; Aequill will have a range of handmade scented candles; and Imazi Naturals will be offering their handmade soaps and bath salts.

The floating market is a great place to enjoy the late summer sun with family and friends, before heading for a walk along the Grand Union Canal.

Paddington Central’s Floating Market runs from 29 August-2 September, 11am-7pm
