Hidden River Festival: Day event celebrating the New River and its abundant flora and fauna

Hidden River Festival celebrates the New River with a wetland treasure hunt, live music, canoeing, art workshops, storytelling and wildlife discovery today.

Surrounded by the green oasis and wildlife of the New River, the family-friendly Hidden River Festival takes place in and around Woodberry Wetlands.

The Hidden River Festival is a collaborative effort with the aim to connect the various neighbourhoods that run through Hackney and Haringey along the river’s banks. It is also open to visitors from other areas of London too.

The New River, which is actually a viaduct and more than 400 years old, brings Londoners fresh drinking water from springs in Hertfordshire. Visitors can walk nearly its entire length via the New River Path which provides a unique green space teeming with wildlife.

Hidden River Festival takes place today at Woodberry Wetlands between 12 and 6pm. For more information, visit the Hidden River Festival 2018 website
