Designers changing the face of Fashion: Ken Samudio

Philippines-born designer Ken Samudio is using his background in marine diversity to create coral reef-inspired accessories made from sustainable materials.

Ken Samudio’s beautiful designs incorporate a mix of upcycled beads made from plastic water bottles, recycled sea glass and other sustainable materials indigenous to the Philippines.

The biologist-turned-accessories designer has created both a sustainable label and a socially conscious business in his home country.

Honouring the power of women, Ken Samudio employs mostly disadvantaged women in his small production house, building a strong work force of skilled artisans working behind the label – providing them with fair wages and a healthy work environment.

Ken Samudio’s colourful collections are available at TheCorner.com, Luisa Via Roma, Harvey Nichols and Lord and Taylor.
