Do you still have some leftover champers or prosecco from a New Year’s Eve party? If so, there are a number of ways that you can use it even if it has gone flat. Here’s a few ideas…
Make Ice Cubes
Pour champagne or prosecco into ice cube trays and leave to freeze overnight. The cubes can be added to mimosas, sangria, or bellinis.
Make Simple Syrup for Cocktails
Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup champagne or prosecco in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Boil 1 minute, then remove from heat and allow to cool. Refrigerate in a sealed container. Use the syrup in cocktails.
Use as a Skin Toner
Leftover champagne or prosecco can be used as skin toner to help shrink pores and brighten skin. Soak a cotton pad in champagne or prosecco and wipe your face. Follow with moisturiser.
Add shine to shoes
Flat hampagne or prosecco can be used as a shoe shiner. After polishing leather shoes, buff shoes with a few drops of champagne or prosecco. The alcohol cuts through the fat in polish and makes leather shine.
