British Ecological Society will be showcasing the winners of their annual photographic competition, Capturing Ecology, in a week-long exhibition at east London’s The Old Truman Brewery.
The exhibition, the first of its kind, will display winners of the 2018 competition, ranging from up close perspectives that display the intricacy of ecology, to images that demonstrate the relationships within ecosystems, and individuals within their environment.
Ecology helps people to understand how the world works and provides the essential basis for nature conservation, according to the BES. It provides useful evidence on the interdependence between people and the natural world and, as well the consequences of human activity on the environment.
Each year, the BES photographic competition, Capturing Ecology, attracts hundreds of incredible images from members around the world. The competition will reopen in July 2019. For more information, visit the BES website.
Capturing Ecology is on at the Old Truman Brewery in London, from 21-27 January. Entry is free.
