Beauty Kitchen is helping to reverse the stat that 99% of beauty packaging is thrown out after just one use with their Return • Refill • Repeat programme.
The sustainable beauty brand – founded by chemist, herbal botanist and beekeeper Jo Chidley – has made their new Seahorse Plankton+ range of products available in glass and aluminium packaging that customers can Return • Refill • Repeat.
Beauty Kitchen are encouraging customers to return their packaging. The beauty brand then wash it and re-use it, and they also send a special reward to customers via email for returning the packaging.
Beauty Kitchen say: “It’s even more sustainable than recycling! From our ingredients to our packaging, everything we do has been designed with sustainability in mind.
“At Beauty Kitchen, we’re on a mission to create the most effective, natural and sustainable beauty products in the world. We’re driven by a passion for beauty products that really work and are a joy to use. We have a strong belief in nature, and we always look for the most the sustainable way to create effective beauty products.”
Beauty Kitchen’s Seahorse Plankton+ range is made with blue chamomile and sustainably grown microalgae, scientifically proven to boost and brighten skin.
According to Beauty Kitchen, beauty product packaging has an even bigger impact on the environment than the ingredients. Which is why the brand endeavour to put the “environment first long before the products even reach [their] customers” through innovative solutions such as precycling and minimised packaging, as well as their Return • Refill • Repeat programme.
Beauty Kitchen make their labels from waste limestone rock. Rock paper production uses no trees, no water and no bleach. And they also use other brand’s unwanted packaging – making use of bottles, jars and even fabric, that would otherwise go to landfill.
All Beauty Kitchen products will change to carry the Return • Refill • Repeat stamp over time, making the process of returning, refilling and repeating available to all customers.
