ORIGINS Festival: Celebration of art, performance and debate honouring Indigenous artists and activists

ORIGINS Festival is a two-week celebration of art, performance and debate honouring Indigenous artists and activists.

The festival, which is being held in venues across London between from today until 23 June, brings together some of the world’s indigenous artists and cultures to the capital through theatre, film, dance, healing rituals and talks.

Among the events are a two-day workshop with Maree Clarke exploring Indigenous Australian mourning rituals, through the making of Kopi mourning caps; a visionary theatrical experience with Peru’s Grupo Integro, which ventures through the Amazon in search of legendary ayahuasca shaman Ino Moxo; and an Aztec Solstice Sunrise Celebration at the Queen of Hoxton Rooftop Terrace.

ORIGINS Festival provides an opportunity to engage with Indigenous artists and activists at the cutting edge of cultural resistance, environmentalism and spiritual tradition.

ORIGINS Festival takes place in venues across London from 11-23 June 2019. For full listings, visit the ORIGINS Festival website.
