Recipe: High-Protein Labneh Cheese

If you’re fan of Greek Yogurt and cheese, then chances are you’re going to love Labneh.

Labneh, a popular cheese used in Lebanese cuisine, is simply strained Greek Yogurt which is strained for 24 hours to produce a rich, creamy texture similar to whipped cream cheese. If you’re looking for a high protein cheese, you’re pretty much in luck with Labneh, and what’s more is it’s super easy to make at home yourself.

Once you have strained the yogurt, you can either spoon some of the Labneh on to a plate with a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkling of dried zaatar or dried sumac. Or once the Labneh is strained, shape the soft cheese in to round balls and soak them in olive oil with fresh herbs such as mint or parsley. Serve with warm Turkish bread or pitta bread.
