London Upcycling Show 2019 is aiming to get city dweIlers engaged with upcycling furniture while also rescuing valuable resources from being thrown away.
This year’s free event, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday 16 November 2019), coincides with the European Week for Waste Reduction. North London Waste Authority (NLWA) and community charity, Groundwork London (GWL), have joined forces to showcase the best of London upcycling.
In 2018, over 21 million small items of furniture were thrown away in the UK.
London Upcycling Show, which is being held at Walthamstow Assembly Hall from 11am-3pm, aims to demonstrate how people can have a positive impact on the environment by upcycling, repairing or reusing furniture.
Visitors can take part in creative upcycling workshops and purchase upcycled furniture items from London’s independent sellers. There will also be exhibits, top tips from advisors, and an upcycling competition.
