Product designer Samson Chung has designed a sustainable coffeeware collection – including french press and stovetop kettle – that combines stainless steel with cork.

The Kork Kafeware collection – which includes a manual coffee grinder, french press, gooseneck stovetop kettle, and espresso maker – is constructed from polished stainless steel with the use of cork for the handles, bases and gaskets.

Cork is a sustainable alternative to plastic and offers unique insulative, elastic and lightweight properties to the design.

Inspired by Scandinavian design, product designer Simon Chung created the Kork Kafeware collection to encourage coffee drinkers to slow down and appreciate the craft that goes into the coffee brewing process.

Simon Chung said: “Brewing coffee is a labour of love. Slow brewing coffee is a process that takes time, but gives coffee a complex and rich taste. Sometimes life needs to slow down to enjoy the moment and this perfectly embodies what the Kafeware range is about; Good things come to those who wait.

“All these products [the Kork Kafeware collection] slow down the coffee brewing process and gets the user involved, making the coffee brewing process more personal.”
