Recipe: Cumin and Ginger Hot Tonic

Herbs – whether they are fresh, dried or in powdered form – can be used in a multitude of ways to get their medicinal benefits. A good way to start your morning is with a herbal tonic of sorts.

The below recipe is for a Cumin and Ginger Hot Tonic. Both cumin and ginger aid digestion and boost the immune system. The addition of Apple Cider Vinegar

If you are low in iron and do not want to take iron tablets, cumin is an ideal source of iron, as well as Vitamin C. Paired together, ginger and cumin is a great taste sensation, giving the below hot toddy the thumbs up whenever you feel the need for it.

Ingredients:

  • 2tbsps of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1tsp of Dried cumin
  • 1/2 tsp of Dried Ginger
  • 180ml of water, boiled

Method:

  1. Add the apple cider vinegar, cumin and ginger to a mug.
  2. Top the mug halfway with boiling water.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Drink warm.
