Recipe: Spicy Sardine Sambal

Tinned sardines are incredibly versatile when it comes to making a meal – add them to pasta, salads, curries, sandwiches, mezze, or even eat them straight out of a can. What’s more tinned sardines are rich in protein, omega-3s, vitamin B12 and selenium, making the cold water fish a healthy addition to any meal.

If you like spicy food, try out this Indonesian-style spicy sardine sambal. If you can’t find sambal in the stores, try making your own using chillies, spices, herbs, and aromatics, or use a tasty substitute such as sriracha sauce instead.
