Midsummer Night’s Tipple: Aperol Spritz

Midsummer, Summer Solstice or Litha is days away. If you are looking for a celebratory tipple to honour the longest day of the year, the Italian bitter apéritif, Aperol, with its orange hue seems a fitting choice.

Fresh fruits such as oranges and lemons, summer fruits, honey, and any yellow or orange coloured foods are traditionally associated with Litha. Traditional drinks consumed on Litha are ale, mead, and fresh fruit juice.

A magickal infusion of bitter and sweet orange, herbs and roots including rhubarb and gentian, add some Aperol to your Midsummer ritual. An Aperol Spritz is made by adding prosecco and soda to aperol.
