Aloe vera is a skin healer that can be used for a multitiude of skin ailments all year round. During the summer months, it is particularly effective at cooling the skin and treating sun burn.

Making your own homemade aloe vera skin moisturiser is easy using an aloe leaf from a plant or if you do not have a plant, use a good quality aloe vera gel with as few chemical additives as possible.

The below video shows you how to make a basic aloe vera skin moisturiser using aloe vera gel, coconut oil and essential oils. Once you have made the cream, store it in the fridge. The cream should keep for 10 days but you can also use a natural preservative such as a vitamin C capsule to help keep for longer.
