Clean the World is turning used soaps, lotions, and other toiletries from the hospitality industry into recycled bars of soap that are circulated to people in need.
The social enterprise, which also aims to divert hotel waste from landfills, benefits children and families in countries with a high pre-adolescent death rate due to acute respiratory infection (pneumonia) and diarrheal diseases (cholera).
Clean the World currently operates soap recycling centres in Orlando, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, and Punta Cana and distributes recycled soap and hygiene products from more than 8,000 hotel and resort partners.
Since 2009, more than 56 million bars of Clean the World soap have been distributed in over 127 countries.
