Solar-powered irrigation system helps Rwandan farmers to farm more efficiently and sustainably

A startup in Rwanda is bringing new solar-powered irrigation technology to farmers.

The high tech solar power plant developed by USAID and Rwandan engineers has enabled polluting diesel fuel pumps to be replaced with solar pumps.

In recent times in Rwanda, predictable rains have become scarce, and farmers have become more reliant on irrigation systems to water their crops.

By switching to a climate-friendly solution for its irrigation system, farmers in Rwanda are now able to save costs on fuel, boost production, and farm more efficiently.
