Girl Warriors is a forthcoming book that tells the story of a “hopeful future” told through the eyes of 25 climate activists under 25 who are “showing up, speaking up and rising up”.
Authored by Rachel Sarah, Girl Warriors: How 25 Young Activists Are Saving the Earth features interviews with 25 environmental activists teen who present a positive picture of the future of environmentalism.
The girl warriors interviewed for the book have led hundreds of thousands of people in climate strikes, founded non-profits, given TED talks, and sued their governments. These fearless girls and young women from all over the world are standing up to demand change when no one else is.
Author Rachel Sarah said: “I interviewed girls and young women from all over the world who are the front lines, leading climate strikes, suing their governments, and continuing to organize movements and dismantle systems of oppression amidst a global pandemic. And while some don’t even have the right to vote yet, they’re using what they do have — their voices — to reverse the damage we’ve done.”
Girl Warriors: How 25 Young Activists Are Saving the Earth, published by Chicago Review Press, will be released in April.
