Grid Alternatives is playing its part to increase the number of women working in the solar industry by providing free training programmes.
The Women in Solar Program, run by the US-based nonprofit Grid Alternatives, enables those women who already work in the solar industry the chance to gain more skills, develop their leadership potential, and access solar job opportunities.
Meanwhile, those women who have no experience of the solar industry but are looking for their first step, Grid Alternatives also offers them the opportunity to participate in a GRID Alternatives installation programme as a volunteer.
Grid Alternatives is also highlighting the voices and stories of women “who are breaking barriers on rooftops” across the country by asking women in construction or solar to share their own experiences via social media.
