District is a limited edition, carbon-negative footwear collection from Canadian brand, Sole, which is crafted with wear-moldable recycled wine corks.
Sole’s District collection harnesses the potential of the wine corks the company collects to create footwear that’s not only stylish and comfortable, but also has a positive effect on the environment.

Recycled wine corks reduce fossil fuel reliance by replacing petroleum-based rubber and foam with a natural, sustainable material in the production of footwear.
Sole’s current District collection includes flat-heeled ankle boots, ballerina-style pumps, and lace-up shoes for women, and Chukka boots and lace-up shoes for men.

Each pair of District shoes and boots uses 25 recycled wine corks. The total greenhouse gas emissions from District’s production are only around 0.74 tonnes; less than a single cork oak tree absorbs in its lifetime, according to Sole.

In addition to being better for the environment, the District collection also boasts a firm, orthopedic built-in footbed.
