Wood is common as a material for furniture, and now Cyprus-based crafts company Wood Experience (WE) are using wood to create unique accessories including clutch bags.

Following traditional carpentry techniques, every object WE make is handcrafted from a certain type of wood carefully selected based on its purpose of usage.

WE’s current collection of handbags and clutch bags include the circular shaped cross-body bag, Cosmos, which has been crafted using walnut, cherry, ash, poplar woods with the addition of leather straps and liners. Grace is a box-like clutch made from cherry, ash, poplar and wenge woods.

The Peristerona-based workshop only use wood from trees “allowed to be cut by law”. Every WE product differs slightly due to the wood’s own nature. As they are produced one by one they carry the marks of the specific craftsman as well as the colour and characteristics of the piece used.
